Misty Copeland, famed and first-ever African American Principal dancer for the American Ballet Theatre, has been pushing boundaries since the very beginning.

In her new documentary, “A Ballerina’s Tale,” out October 14th, Misty says she was originally told at the age of 13 that she had,” the wrong body for ballet.”

But that didn’t stop her:

“My body is very different from most of the dancers I dance with. My hair is different than most I dance with. But I didn’t let that stop me. Black girls rock and CAN be ballerinas.

You must have the passion, strength, and belief that you can become anything.”

Misty, we salute you! We CAN be anything we want to be.
